As the name implies, quick-drying fabric is a kind of fabric that volatilizes faster than ordinary fabric after soaking in water. Compared with wool or cotton clothes, this kind of clothes is characterized by transferring sweat to the surface of the clothes. Then it evaporates sweat through air circulation to achieve the purpose of quick drying. The drying speed of ordinary quick-drying fabrics is 50% faster than that of cotton fabrics.

When you do outdoor activities, a lot of exercise makes clothes wet off. Quick-drying clothes are characterized by moisture absorption and quick-drying. The two traits make them the first choice for outdoor activities in summer.

When we travel outdoors, the amount of exercise is large. It is uncomfortable for clothes and trousers to stick to the body after being soaked with sweat. To get rid of the uncomfortable feeling of a large amount of sweat silting up on the skin surface, some people will choose to wear "comfortable and breathable" pure cotton clothing.

In fact, pure cotton clothing can only absorb sweat. It is not breathable, which is not suitable for sports. However, quick-drying clothes with good performance can introduce sweat into the surface of clothes. They can volatilize sweat and restore the comfort of human body.

The reason why quick-drying clothes can achieve the effect of quick-drying is inseparable from its fabrics and materials. Moisture absorption mainly depends on the capillary effect of fibers to absorb sweat from the body. There are two ways to make fabrics. One is yarn and the other is additive.

The typical representative of yarn is COOLMAX of INVISTA. This is a modified polyester fiber. The cross-sectional surface of this fiber is not circular, but cross-shaped. When many cross-shaped fibers are squeezed together, capillary effect is formed. It can easily take away the sweat from the body. There are many kinds of special-shaped yarns in the world, such as C-shaped hollow yarns, W-shaped yarns, U-shaped yarns, etc. But cross-shaped yarns are the most common.

Auxiliaries are added during dyeing. The hydrophilic group in the additive is grafted on the fiber. So, the fabric has a more intuitive moisture absorption effect. A drop of water is dropped on the fabric before the additive is applied. It may take several seconds for the fabric to penetrate all the water droplets. However, after the additive was added, it all penetrated in one second. So, most moisture absorption and quick drying fabrics, even if the above cross-shaped yarn is used, will use additives for further processing.

The fabric composition is hydrophobic. So, the fiber structure of quick-drying clothes cannot lock in moisture. The best quick-drying fiber should be polypropylene fiber. This kind of thing is absolutely incomparable if it weren't for some difficulties in production technology. Polypropylene is the lightest, most hydrophobic and warmest.

Experiments show that the drying speed of ordinary quick-drying clothes is 50% faster than that of ordinary cotton fabrics. With this quick-drying garment, no matter what kind of outdoor activities are carried out, it will escort the athletes throughout the process.
