Sourcing and technology fairs/exhibitions are important platform to increase market reach, to explore new ideas and to get direction about market and overall business. As in 2018, 2019 too will have hundreds of such B2B (Business to Business) trade fairs be it apparel and textile sourcing or technology for apparel manufacturing. Apparel Sourcing

In India, the event calendar will start with India’s biggest apparel sourcing event namely India International Garment Fair (IIGF) which will be held from 16 to 18 January. Dedicated to Autumn/Winter 2019–20, this 62nd edition of the fair will be held at Expo Mart, Greater Noida. The fair happens twice in a year, and dates of its July 2019 edition are yet to be announced. In India, it is one of the best platforms to meet small and medium level buyers across the globe.

The 50th edition of Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2019 is scheduled to be held from 14 to 17 January in Hong Kong. In 2018, 1,397 exhibitors displayed their collections in the Hong Kong Fashion Week, while 13,778 visitors had attended the event. The July edition (Spring/ Summer) of the event will happen from 8 to 11 July 2019.

Apparel Sourcing, Paris of Messe Frankfurt will take place from 1 to 14 February 2019. Another important apparel sourcing event, Sourcing at Magic, is scheduled to take place from 4 to 7 February 2019 at Las Vegas, USA. Notably, Sourcing at Magic is one of the major events as far as Indian apparel exporters are concerned.

Claimed as UK’s number one leading fashion event for the entire fashion supply chain, Pure London Fashion Week, UK will be held from 10 to 12 February 2019. One of the main attractions of the show remains latest collections of garments.

For Fabric and Accessories

Dedicated to latest development in yarns, fabrics, leather and designs, Premiere Vision will attract lot of visitors and exhibitors on 12-14 February for Spring/Summer 2020 at Paris.

India’s leading F&A Show (Fabrics & Accessories Trade Show) is set to be held from 8 to 10 March in Bangalore, while Delhi will host the same event from 15 to 17 July. Denims and Jeans India Show, Bangalore, one-of-its-kind show dedicated to denim, is slated to be held from 17 to 19 July.

Home Furnishing Events

Frankfurt, Germany will be hosting the Heimtextil, international trade fair for home and contract textiles from 8 to 11 January. Every year, hundreds of Indian home textile companies participate in this event. Besides, Heimtextil, India, which focuses specifically on domestic home furnishing market, is planned from 13 to 15 June in Delhi.

In India, EPCH’s IHGF (India Handicraft and Gift Fairs) is a prestigious event for handicraft industry and home furnishing players across India to display their latest collections. Thousands of overseas buyers visit the event, whose spring edition is scheduled from 18 to 22 February at Greater Noida. The autumn edition of the same event happens in October.

Fairs Dedicated to Indian Domestic Market

While for the domestic market, there are state level fairs across various states, at all India level the National Garment Fair of CMAI holds significance as it is India’s biggest fair to tap domestic retailers and wholesalers. The 68th edition of the same will be held in Mumbai on 30 and 31 January, while the July edition of the same happens at the grand level.

Similar kind of events do happen in Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Bangalore, Kolkata and few other apparel hubs of India by different associations. Dedicated to Indian intimate industry’s brands, Intimasia 3.0 will happen first time in Delhi on 21 and 22 January.

Technology Fairs

Dedicated to knitting technology mainly, Garments Machinery Manufacturers & Suppliers Association (GMMSA), Ludhiana will happen this year from 25 to 28th January. On similar lines, the 25th edition of KnitWorld, Ludhiana is scheduled for 11-14 January. Besides, the 15th edition of Knit Tech will be held in Tirupur from 1 to 4 March. These shows attract circular and flat knitting machine manufacturers from all over the world.

Focusing on apparel manufacturing, Garment Technology Expo (GTE) is one of the biggest technology events which will take place from 22 to 25 February in Delhi. Gartex, another such fair is scheduled for 10-12 August at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. Apart from technology, Gartex strongly focuses on denim fabric, and all the top mills of India display their fabrics in this show.

Techtextil India, a leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, will take place in Mumbai from 20 to 22 November 2019. As far as technology fairs out of India are concerned, Texprocess, Frankfurt (14-17 May 2019) will present the latest machines, plants, processes and services for the manufacturers of garments and textile and flexible materials. China International Sewing Machinery & Accessories Show, better known as CISMA, will be conducted from 25 to 29 September in Pudong. It is one of the most important and biggest events to explore latest developments in sewing machinery.
